Influenced by ayahuasca journeys, sound baths, and queer rituals, it offers a space for reflection and embodied memory.&nbsp; The film follows a protagonist moving through LeCorbusier’s modernist housing block, treating the space as a vessel for memory, longing, and psychic transformation. Together, they reimagine botanical and architectural spaces as sites for processing intergenerational trauma and envisioning new queer futures. Structured by a repeating Whatsapp voice note received from friend Trevor Norris, this mini travelogue ponders the need for queers’ relocation in order to find safe haven. By embodying a nonsensical choreography, I wanted to reify the absurdity of war by making vain attempts to leap over this colossal concrete structure. Blending forms specific to vogueing and improvisational dance, the video is spliced by screenshots of fragments from the Berlin Wall being sold on eBay at that time. By weaving the space of tourism with the space of the internet, I wanted to consider how we might revisit a past being commodified In the present. Performed on the 80th anniversary of the Nazi invasion into Poland -September 1, 2019- the work is thought of as a “counter-invasion clandestine walk” in the opposite direction, from Poland into Germany. Envisioned as an elegy to my recently deceased grandfather, the video is intercut with place-names from his testimony as a war survivor. To avoid detention by the border police, a Go-Pro camera was attached to my ankle. Beginning in the 1960s, the models portrayed therein, were accompanied by a series of symbols from Mizer’s “Subjective Character Analysis”, a sort of ciphered alphabet about the models inclinations- some of them tame, titillating and often, verging on criminal descriptions (i.e. “petty thieves” and/or “physically dangerous”).
